Founded as a teacher's college in 1889, UNC has graduated generations of educators, more than any other Colorado university. In response to Colorado's growing need for physicians, the university is opening its' sixth collegethe University of Northern Colorado College of Osteopathic Medicinewith the first cohort of students to start in fall 2026. This initiative represents a transformative opportunity for the university and will require strong academic leadership, accreditation expertise, and cross-campus collaboration.
