Environmental Programs Coordinator
Applications are now being accepted for an Environmental Programs Coordinator in the Environmental Department at the Ada County Highway District (ACHD) in the Boise, Idaho area. This is an exempt position with a hiring range of $69,472 - $84,448 per year, DOQ.

The Environmental Programs Coordinator applies technical environmental and regulatory knowledge and skills to plan, develop, coordinate, and implement ACHD’s environmental compliance and regulatory activities for ACHD facilities.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee ACHD facilities compliance program to ensure environmental regulations are met through
inspections, monitoring, reporting, and program management
- Prepare permits and compliance reports and oversee/perform regulatory inspections and monitoring
- Manage consultant contracts
- Prepare and maintain industrial Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to staff
- Serve as ACHD primary point of contact for regulatory partners
- Represent ACHD in a professional and effective manner to both internal and external parties
Qualifications:
- Considerable knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local wastewater, stormwater, and solid waste
management laws, regulations, and permitting as they relate to ACHD’s facilities and associated activities performed at the facilities. An understanding of RCRA, UST, and SPCC is desired.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills for data review, technical report preparation, and problemsolving.
- Proven ability to supervise consultants; research, interpret, and apply complex environmental
regulations; read and interpret engineering plans and drawings; and communicate clearly and concisely both in writing and orally.
- Familiarity with monitoring equipment including auto-samplers, auto/manual flow and pH meters.
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental field along with a minimum of four (4) years progressively
responsible experience in environmental and regulatory compliance programs is desired.
- Or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skill,
and abilities may be acceptable.
