Environmental Lab Technician - Wastewater/Water Looking for meaningful work? Lycoming County Water and Sewer Authority (LCWSA), an independent water, wastewater, and stormwater authority owning and operating multiple permitted systems and facilities throughout Lycoming County, is accepting applications for a full-time Environmental Laboratory Technician – Wastewater/Water. This position is primarily responsible for performing laboratory analysis and supporting wastewater and water treatment operations. The role includes routine and advanced analytical testing, data evaluation, and maintaining accurate records to support regulatory compliance and operational decision-making. A background in biology or related college degree, wastewater and/or water treatment, sampling and analysis, accredited laboratory environments, college-level mathematics, and environmental/regulatory/NPDES compliance is preferred. Key Responsibilities:
The Environmental Lab Technician position is full-time (40 hours per week) Monday through Friday 7: 00 AM – 3: 00 PM with excellent benefits. The successful candidate must be professional in dealing with internal and external customers, possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong mathematical, organizational, and data management skills - including proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas, data organization, and basic analysis) - are required, along with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Licensing/certification is not required initially; however, candidates are expected to pursue Pennsylvania water and wastewater licensure. The position requires a background check, drug testing, and a valid PA driver’s license. Hourly pay range is based on experience and qualifications.
