The Summit Daily News, located in the heart of the Colorado mountains, is seeking a reporter to cover high school sports, ski industry, recreation and local government. Summit Daily News won the “Excellence in Editorial” award for Class 2 at the 2024 Colorado Press Association’s annual Better News Contest awards ceremony in August 2025. Our preferred candidate is passionate about writing impactful stories that help our community thrive, using curiosity and tenacity to keep our readers informed using our digital-first strategy. However, this is not a position for beginners or someone looking to subsidize their powder habit. We need a mature, ambitious storyteller who can turn a phrase, shoot an image, edit a video and send a tweet — all on deadline. Full disclosure: It snows here — a lot, if we're lucky.
